Bear River Chiropractic | Meet Our Doctor

Dr. Jim McCririe, D.C., C.C.S.P.

Dr. James McCririe entered the United States Navy out of High School. He spent a good deal of time on a nuclear powered fast attack submarine. While in the Navy he earned a degree in electronics. After serving four years in the Navy and with the GI bill he went off to college. While playing his favorite sport, baseball, he suffered a nerve injury after sliding head first into third base. The result was facial paralysis and the medical treatment was a "wait and see" approach. Little did Dr. Jim know that this incident would shape his future. Chiropractic was the only treatment that impacted his condition and that experience was what inspired him to pursue Chiropractic. He graduated from Palmer Chiropractic College in 1986. He then went on to study sports injuries and after two additional years he received his certification as a Sports Injury Physician. Other areas of study include the treatment and management of the "whiplash" injury, x-ray analysis, physiotherapy, nutrition and supplementation...

Dr. Jim established his practice in Los Gatos, California and treated 1000's of patients over 17 years. He worked closely with orthopedic surgeons in the recovery and rehabilitation of joint injuries. Dr. Jim has had the privilege of working with professional, Olympic and amateur athletes.

The thought of moving and starting over was a little overwhelming, but exhilarating at the same time. In 2002, decisions were made quickly and before Dr. Jim and his family could digest what happened they were living in Lake of the Pines. The BEST decision ever! It was monumental because the transition set the stage for the most advanced technology to penetrate the chiropractic profession and find its way to Bear River Chiropractic. Come meet Dr. Jim and experience the ProAdjuster approach to healthful living.

Dr. Patrick Edmondson, D.C.

I became a Chiropractor because I want to prevent people from going down the same path of suffering I fell into. In 2013, I was sixteen years old, and playing football on the freshman team while living in Los Angeles. Mid season I was involved in a severe football injury. I do not recall the injury event (retro-grade amnesia) I do not recall how I got home, showered and put in bed on Friday night. I woke up on Sunday night and still thought it was Friday night (antero-grade amnesia). I woke up Monday for school and could not use me left arm for two months due to Neurapraxia, Axonotmesis and partial Neurotmesis nerve damage. In 1991 concussion injury was not well understood. I received very little to no help from my school or from most doctors I was referred to see. Twenty years transpired. I though no one could help me. I constantly rubbed my left upper back and shoulder on corners of buildings, on door edges, lay down on a rock or push against a tree. The left shoulder pain became left neck pain. then left hand pain weakness. Eventually I could not work a full week in construction anymore. The back and neck pain altered my digestion ability and I started to have digestive issues. The chronic pain was causing me to take NSAIDS ( aspirin, Tylenol ect..). Then one day at the county fair, as I was rubbing my back against a tree like some grizzly bear, a chiropractor came up to me and took me to his booth at the fair and actually talked to me and listened to what I was suffering from. The first time anyone showed any interest or hope for me. Six weeks and 12 adjustments later I felt 75% better. This change startled me so deeply, I got so angry about suffering for 20 years and just a few adjustments later I was literally a different person, well I got so angry I became a Chiropractor. That is the power behind Chiropractic medicine.
